Russia’s Trade with Sweden

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Sweden was $1,186,565,221, down 22.22% ($339,022,018) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Sweden in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $598,816,326, down 33.70% ($304,307,629) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Sweden in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $587,748,895, down 5.58% ($34,714,389) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Sweden in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $11,067,431, a 96.06% decrease ($269,593,240) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Sweden was Russia’s 31st largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 24th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.7412% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.8926% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Sweden was Russia’s 36th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 28th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.5943% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.8195% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Sweden was Russia’s 22nd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 24th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.9907% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.0253% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Sweden

The major share of Russian exports to Sweden in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 72.02% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (79.43% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 18.82% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (13.84% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
