Russia’s Trade with Turkey

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Turkey was $5,781,106,076, down 7.92% ($497,019,834) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Turkey in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $4,688,417,678, down 11.12% ($586,295,016) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Turkey in the 2nd quarter of 2019 totaled $1,092,688,398, up 8.90% ($89,275,182) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Turkey in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $3,595,729,280, a 15.82% decrease ($675,570,198) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Turkey was Russia’s 8th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 3.6112% of Russia’s total trade (down from 3.6733% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Turkey was Russia’s 5th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 4.6529% of Russia’s total exports (down from 4.7863% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Turkey was Russia’s 12th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 14th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 1.8419% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.6528% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Turkey

The major share of Russian exports to Turkey in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 67.08% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (59.72% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 17.26% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (24.60% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 10.08% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (7.90% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
