Russia’s Trade with Turkmenistan

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Turkmenistan totaled $127,012,606, up 72.27% ($53,285,217) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Turkmenistan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 totaled $86,333,561, up 104.71% ($44,160,509) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Turkmenistan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 totaled $40,679,045, up 28.92% ($9,124,708) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Turkmenistan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $45,654,516, a 329.94% increase ($35,035,801) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Turkmenistan was Russia’s 79th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 89th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0793% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0431% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Turkmenistan was Russia’s 75th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 94th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0857% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0383% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Turkmenistan was Russia’s 75th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 83rd in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0686% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0520% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Turkmenistan

The major share of Russian exports to Turkmenistan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 34.42% of Russia’s total imports from Turkmenistan (47.44% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 16.39% of Russia’s total imports from Turkmenistan (9.42% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
