Russia’s Trade with Zimbabwe

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Zimbabwe totaled $9,699,242, up 2.31% ($219,160) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Zimbabwe in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $45,394, down 93.32% ($633,840) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Zimbabwe in the 2nd quarter of 2019 totaled $9,653,848, up 9.69% ($853,000) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade deficit with Zimbabwe in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $9,608,454, a 18.31% increase ($1,486,840) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Zimbabwe was Russia’s 137th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 136th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0061% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0055% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Zimbabwe was Russia’s 175th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 164th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0000% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0006% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Zimbabwe was Russia’s 96th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 98th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0163% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0145% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Zimbabwe in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $599,458;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $73,926;
  • Railway or tramway locomotives, rolling-stock and parts thereof; railway or tramway track fixtures and fittings and parts thereof; mechanical (including electro-mechanical) traffic signalling equipment of all kinds (HS code 86) - a decrease of $2,216;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - a decrease of $502;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $477.
