Russia’s Trade with Egypt
In 2011, Russia’s trade with Egypt totaled $2,820,171,376, up 28.71% ($629,088,621) from 2010.
Russia’s exports to Egypt in 2011 totaled $2,336,978,397, up 21.73% ($417,124,255) from 2010.
Russia’s imports from Egypt in 2011 totaled $483,192,979, up 78.15% ($211,964,366) from 2010.
Russia’s trade surplus with Egypt in 2011 was $1,853,785,418, a 12.44% increase ($205,159,889) over 2010.
Egypt was Russia’s 41st largest trading partner in 2011 (just as in 2010), accounting for 0.3429% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.3500% in 2010).
Egypt was Russia’s 32nd largest export market in 2011 (down from 31st in 2010), accounting for 0.4523% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.4835% in 2010).
Egypt was Russia’s 52nd largest supplier in 2011 (up from 64th in 2010), accounting for 0.1580% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1185% in 2010).
Russia’s Exports to Egypt
The major share of Russian exports to Egypt in 2011 (and in 2010) was accounted for the following product types:
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 58.01% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (46.54% in 2010);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 18.07% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (24.20% in 2010);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 7.55% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (8.61% in 2010);
