Russia’s Trade with Italy

In 2011, Russia’s trade with Italy totaled $46,060,008,655, up 22.77% ($8,541,423,606) from 2010.

Russia’s exports to Italy in 2011 totaled $32,657,659,302, up 18.86% ($5,181,916,987) from 2010.

Russia’s imports from Italy in 2011 totaled $13,402,349,353, up 33.45% ($3,359,506,619) from 2010.

Russia’s trade surplus with Italy in 2011 was $19,255,309,949, a 10.45% increase ($1,822,410,368) over 2010.

Italy was Russia’s 5th largest trading partner in 2011 (down from 4th in 2010), accounting for 5.6001% of Russia’s total trade (down from 5.9936% in 2010).

Italy was Russia’s 4th largest export market in 2011 (down from 2nd in 2010), accounting for 6.3202% of Russia’s total exports (down from 6.9197% in 2010).

Italy was Russia’s 7th largest supplier in 2011 (just as in 2010), accounting for 4.3833% of Russia’s total imports (down from 4.3872% in 2010).

Russia’s Exports to Italy

The major share of Russian exports to Italy in 2011 (and in 2010) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 84.50% of Russia’s total exports to Italy (85.55% in 2010);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 10.49% of Russia’s total exports to Italy (10.33% in 2010);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 2.63% of Russia’s total exports to Italy (2.17% in 2010).
