Russia’s Trade with Jordan

In 2011, Russia’s trade with Jordan totaled $350,307,987, up 136.74% ($202,335,046) from 2010.

Russia’s exports to Jordan in 2011 totaled $328,197,484, up 148.45% ($196,096,937) from 2010.

Russia’s imports from Jordan in 2011 totaled $22,110,503, up 39.30% ($6,238,109) from 2010.

Russia’s trade surplus with Jordan in 2011 was $306,086,981, a 163.35% increase ($189,858,828) over 2010.

Jordan was Russia’s 89th largest trading partner in 2011 (up from 99th in 2010), accounting for 0.0426% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0236% in 2010).

Jordan was Russia’s 76th largest export market in 2011 (up from 86th in 2010), accounting for 0.0635% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0333% in 2010).

Jordan was Russia’s 110th largest supplier in 2011 (down from 106th in 2010), accounting for 0.0072% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0069% in 2010).

Russia’s Exports to Jordan

The major share of Russian exports to Jordan in 2011 (and in 2010) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 33.95% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (1.25% in 2010);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 21.52% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (48.50% in 2010);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 11.94% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (35.60% in 2010);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.34% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (4.62% in 2010);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 0.40% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (2.64% in 2010).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Jordan in 2011 over 2010 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $111,317,027;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $6,371,939;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $1,614,424;
  • Printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry; manuscripts, typescripts and plans (HS code 49) - an increase of $1,605,779.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Jordan in 2011 over 2010 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $8,518,715;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $2,442,224;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $1,639,843;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $1,545,462.

Russia’s Imports from Jordan

The major share of Russian imports from Jordan in 2011 (and in 2010) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 85.22% of Russia’s total imports from Jordan (65.43% in 2010);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 11.99% of Russia’s total imports from Jordan (32.39% in 2010);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 1.63% of Russia’s total imports from Jordan (0.89% in 2010).
