Russia’s Trade with Taiwan

In 2011, Russia’s trade with Taiwan totaled $4,141,531,473, up 24.38% ($811,760,328) from 2010.

Russia’s exports to Taiwan in 2011 totaled $2,103,905,484, up 17.06% ($306,658,813) from 2010.

Russia’s imports from Taiwan in 2011 totaled $2,037,625,989, up 32.96% ($505,101,515) from 2010.

Russia’s trade surplus with Taiwan in 2011 was $66,279,495, a 74.96% decrease ($198,442,702) over 2010.

Taiwan was Russia’s 30th largest trading partner in 2011 (up from 32nd in 2010), accounting for 0.5035% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.5319% in 2010).

Taiwan was Russia’s 37th largest export market in 2011 (down from 34th in 2010), accounting for 0.4072% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.4526% in 2010).

Taiwan was Russia’s 27th largest supplier in 2011 (up from 28th in 2010), accounting for 0.6664% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.6695% in 2010).

The major share of Russian exports to Taiwan in 2011 (and in 2010) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 65.71% of Russia’s total exports to Taiwan (59.05% in 2010);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 22.49% of Russia’s total exports to Taiwan (29.78% in 2010);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 5.50% of Russia’s total exports to Taiwan (6.40% in 2010);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.71% of Russia’s total exports to Taiwan (1.90% in 2010);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.88% of Russia’s total exports to Taiwan (1.34% in 2010);
