Russia’s Trade with Uruguay

In 2011, Russia’s trade with Uruguay totaled $397,579,842, up 6.33% ($23,672,303) from 2010.

Russia’s exports to Uruguay in 2011 were $39,992,074, down 9.63% ($4,263,564) from 2010.

Russia’s imports from Uruguay in 2011 totaled $357,587,768, up 8.47% ($27,935,867) from 2010.

Russia’s trade deficit with Uruguay in 2011 was $317,595,694, a 11.28% increase ($32,199,431) over 2010.

Uruguay was Russia’s 86th largest trading partner in 2011 (down from 77th in 2010), accounting for 0.0483% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0597% in 2010).

Uruguay was Russia’s 117th largest export market in 2011 (down from 105th in 2010), accounting for 0.0077% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0111% in 2010).

Uruguay was Russia’s 60th largest supplier in 2011 (down from 59th in 2010), accounting for 0.1170% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1440% in 2010).

Russia’s Exports to Uruguay

The major share of Russian exports to Uruguay in 2011 (and in 2010) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 87.14% of Russia’s total exports to Uruguay (90.29% in 2010);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 5.00% of Russia’s total exports to Uruguay (4.94% in 2010);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 3.67% of Russia’s total exports to Uruguay (0.13% in 2010);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 3.60% of Russia’s total exports to Uruguay (4.22% in 2010).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Uruguay in 2011 over 2010 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $6,390,600;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $426,583;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $189,812;
  • Wadding, felt and nonwovens; special yarns, twine, cordage, ropes and cables and articles thereof (HS code 56) - a decrease of $123,151.

Russia’s Imports from Uruguay

The major share of Russian imports from Uruguay in 2011 (and in 2010) was accounted for the following product types:

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Uruguay in 2011 over 2010 were recorded for the following product groups:
