Russia’s Trade with Ghana
In 2012, Russia’s trade with Ghana totaled $273,665,619, up 51.90% ($93,506,055) from 2011.
Russia’s exports to Ghana in 2012 totaled $165,642,471, up 159.84% ($101,893,506) from 2011.
Russia’s imports from Ghana in 2012 were $108,023,148, down 7.21% ($8,387,451) from 2011.
Russia’s trade balance with Ghana went from a deficit of $52,661,634 in 2011, to a surplus of $57,619,323 in 2012.
Ghana was Russia’s 88th largest trading partner in 2012 (up from 101st in 2011), accounting for 0.0325% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0219% in 2011).
Ghana was Russia’s 91st largest export market in 2012 (up from 109th in 2011), accounting for 0.0316% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0123% in 2011).
Ghana was Russia’s 80th largest supplier in 2012 (down from 79th in 2011), accounting for 0.0340% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0381% in 2011).

The major share of Russian exports to Ghana in 2012 (and in 2011) was accounted for the following product types:
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 33.80% of Russia’s total exports to Ghana (44.63% in 2011);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 14.05% of Russia’s total exports to Ghana (22.31% in 2011);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 7.42% of Russia’s total exports to Ghana (24.85% in 2011);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 6.30% of Russia’s total exports to Ghana (2.01% in 2011);

- Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $2,543,971;
- Fish and crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates (HS code 03) - an increase of $811,636.
The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Ghana in 2012 over 2011 were recorded for the following product groups:
