In the 1st quarter of 2016, Russia's trade with France totaled $2,728,057,359, up 4.13% ($108,193,124) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's exports to France in the 1st quarter of 2016 were $1,147,905,596, down 10.62% ($136,342,078) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's imports from France in the 1st quarter of 2016 totaled $1,580,151,763, up 18.31% ($244,535,202) from the 1st quarter of 2015.

Russia's trade deficit with France in the 1st quarter of 2016 was $432,246,167, a 741.46% increase ($380,877,280) over the 1st quarter of 2015.

France was Russia's 10th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 15th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 2.8036% of Russia's total trade (up from 1.9803% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

France was Russia's 17th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 18th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 1.8705% of Russia's total exports (up from 1.4227% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

France was Russia's 5th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2016 (up from 7th in the 1st quarter of 2015), accounting for 4.3969% of Russia's total imports (up from 3.1776% in the 1st quarter of 2015).

The major share of Russian exports to France in the 1st quarter of 2016 (and in the 1st quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 78.48% of Russia's total exports to France (84.56% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 11.14% of Russia's total exports to France (5.54% in the 1st quarter of 2015);
