Russia’s Trade with India

In the 2nd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with India was $1,554,720,824, down 22.34% ($447,329,906) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to India in the 2nd quarter of 2016 were $965,497,381, down 32.35% ($461,764,237) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from India in the 2nd quarter of 2016 totaled $589,223,443, up 2.51% ($14,434,331) from the 2nd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with India in the 2nd quarter of 2016 was $376,273,938, a 55.86% decrease ($476,198,568) over the 2nd quarter of 2015.

India was Russia’s 17th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 18th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 1.4285% of Russia’s total trade (down from 1.4685% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

India was Russia’s 18th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 1.4530% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.5591% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

India was Russia’s 18th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (up from 19th in the 2nd quarter of 2015), accounting for 1.3900% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.2833% in the 2nd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to India

The major share of Russian exports to India in the 2nd quarter of 2016 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 28.65% of Russia’s total exports to India (17.66% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 19.14% of Russia’s total exports to India (18.40% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 18.96% of Russia’s total exports to India (12.34% in the 2nd quarter of 2015);
