Russia’s Trade with Bangladesh
In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Bangladesh was $411,807,151, down 8.12% ($36,392,717) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s exports to Bangladesh in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $219,992,333, down 21.42% ($59,984,882) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s imports from Bangladesh in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $191,814,818, up 14.02% ($23,592,165) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s trade surplus with Bangladesh in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $28,177,515, a 74.79% decrease ($83,577,047) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Bangladesh was Russia’s 48th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 43rd in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.3378% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.3532% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).
Bangladesh was Russia’s 52nd largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 43rd in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.3058% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.3521% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).
Bangladesh was Russia’s 40th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 43rd in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.3838% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.3550% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).
Russia’s Exports to Bangladesh
The major share of Russian exports to Bangladesh in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 58.40% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (24.83% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 23.25% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (11.24% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 9.80% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (1.20% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 7.02% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (0.40% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 1.17% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (0.80% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 0.05% of Russia’s total exports to Bangladesh (4.83% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).
The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Bangladesh in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:
- Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $56,058,471;
- Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $46,687,726;
- Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $20,510,411;
- Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $14,811,747;
- Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - an increase of $1,585,144;
- Oil seeds and oleaginous fruits; miscellaneous grains, seeds and fruits; industrial or medicinal plants; straw and fodder (HS code 12) - an increase of $1,305,545.
The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Bangladesh in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:
- Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $16,629,747;
- Printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry; manuscripts, typescripts and plans (HS code 49) - a decrease of $13,421,069;
- Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $8,307,877;
- Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $2,062,840;
- Raw hides and skins (other than furskins) and leather (HS code 41) - a decrease of $1,521,023;
- Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $1,081,217;
- Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - a decrease of $942,458.
