Russia’s Trade with Jordan

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Jordan was $23,832,864, down 28.61% ($9,550,001) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Jordan in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $19,699,401, down 37.80% ($11,969,746) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Jordan in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $4,133,463, up 141.20% ($2,419,745) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Jordan in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $15,565,938, a 48.04% decrease ($14,389,491) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Jordan was Russia’s 114th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 109th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0195% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0263% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Jordan was Russia’s 101st largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 93rd in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0274% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0398% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Jordan was Russia’s 107th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 122nd in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0083% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0036% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Jordan

The major share of Russian exports to Jordan in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 69.68% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (71.16% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 16.07% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (3.11% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 5.95% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (11.52% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 5.74% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (12.09% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);

  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $830,101;
  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - an increase of $429,852;
  • Beverages, spirits and vinegar (HS code 22) - an increase of $150,473;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $146,490;
  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - an increase of $118,995;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $64,246.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Jordan in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $7,846,271;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $2,846,160;

  • Sugars and sugar confectionery (HS code 17) - a decrease of $510,000;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $447,736;
  • Live animals (HS code 01) - a decrease of $383,350;
