Russia’s Trade with Morocco
In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Morocco totaled $315,179,726, up 63.73% ($122,675,388) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s exports to Morocco in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $254,068,039, up 82.69% ($114,996,036) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s imports from Morocco in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $61,111,687, up 14.37% ($7,679,352) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Russia’s trade surplus with Morocco in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $192,956,352, a 125.31% increase ($107,316,684) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.
Morocco was Russia’s 52nd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 71st in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.2585% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.1517% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).
Morocco was Russia’s 45th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 60th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.3531% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1749% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).
Morocco was Russia’s 61st largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 60th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1223% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1128% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).
Russia’s Exports to Morocco
The major share of Russian exports to Morocco in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 45.71% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (74.09% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 27.84% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (4.19% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 24.85% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (11.98% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.03% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (7.59% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).
The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Morocco in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:
- Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $69,040,818;
- Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $46,275,800;
- Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $18,128,462.
The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Morocco in the 3rd quarter of 2016 over the 3rd quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:
- Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $8,518,140;
- Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $5,040,085;
- Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - a decrease of $4,263,366;
- Glass and glassware (HS code 70) - a decrease of $2,061,745.
