Russia’s Trade with Thailand

In the 3rd quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Thailand totaled $609,840,230, up 35.47% ($159,683,200) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Thailand in the 3rd quarter of 2016 totaled $284,296,239, up 192.28% ($187,027,646) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Thailand in the 3rd quarter of 2016 were $325,543,991, down 7.75% ($27,344,446) from the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade deficit with Thailand in the 3rd quarter of 2016 was $41,247,752, a 83.86% decrease ($214,372,092) over the 3rd quarter of 2015.

Thailand was Russia’s 40th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 42nd in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.5002% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.3547% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Thailand was Russia’s 42nd largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (up from 70th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.3952% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1223% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Thailand was Russia’s 30th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (down from 28th in the 3rd quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.6514% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.7447% in the 3rd quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Thailand

The major share of Russian exports to Thailand in the 3rd quarter of 2016 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 48.31% of Russia’s total exports to Thailand (49.23% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 6.29% of Russia’s total exports to Thailand (16.96% in the 3rd quarter of 2015);
