Russia’s Trade with Chile

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Chile was $178,506,003, down 1.16% ($2,090,859) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Chile in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $11,361,340, up 5.84% ($626,519) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Chile in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $167,144,663, down 1.60% ($2,717,378) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade deficit with Chile in the 4th quarter of 2016 was $155,783,323, a 2.10% decrease ($3,343,897) over the 4th quarter of 2015.

Chile was Russia’s 69th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1310% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1381% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Chile was Russia’s 113th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 120th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0136% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0130% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Chile was Russia’s 45th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 42nd in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.3188% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.3514% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

The major share of Russian exports to Chile in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 37.86% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (36.93% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 31.54% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (46.33% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 17.89% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (5.43% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 7.21% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (4.79% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 3.37% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (1.49% in the 4th quarter of 2015);

  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - a decrease of $41,407;

  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $34,348.
