Russia’s Trade with Colombia

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Colombia totaled $126,144,651, up 96.94% ($62,090,894) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Colombia in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $100,468,488, up 297.52% ($75,194,624) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Colombia in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $25,676,163, down 33.79% ($13,103,730) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade balance with Colombia went from a deficit of $13,506,029 in the 4th quarter of 2015, to a surplus of $74,792,325 in the 4th quarter of 2016.

Colombia was Russia’s 81st largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 91st in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0926% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0490% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Colombia was Russia’s 71st largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 98th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1198% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0307% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Colombia was Russia’s 84th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 71st in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0490% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0802% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Colombia

The major share of Russian exports to Colombia in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 81.62% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (3.21% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 8.41% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (44.00% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 6.42% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (17.29% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.22% of Russia’s total exports to Colombia (15.87% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Colombia in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $81,192,722;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - an increase of $1,031,204;
  • Natural or cultured pearls, precious or semi-precious stones,precious metals, metals clad with precious metal and articles thereof; imitation jewelry; coin (HS code 71) - an increase of $867,564;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $848,157.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Colombia in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $2,833,579;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $1,233,527;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $514,852.

Russia’s Imports from Colombia

The major share of Russian imports from Colombia in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 7.06% of Russia’s total imports from Colombia (5.53% in the 4th quarter of 2015).
