Russia’s Trade with France

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with France totaled $3,755,786,795, up 15.57% ($506,128,932) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to France in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $1,365,197,957, down 7.27% ($107,040,961) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from France in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $2,390,588,838, up 34.50% ($613,169,893) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade deficit with France in the 4th quarter of 2016 was $1,025,390,881, a 236.00% increase ($720,210,854) over the 4th quarter of 2015.

France was Russia’s 12th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 2.7562% of Russia’s total trade (up from 2.4850% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

France was Russia’s 19th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 15th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 1.6284% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.7860% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

France was Russia’s 5th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 7th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 4.5594% of Russia’s total imports (up from 3.6771% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to France

The major share of Russian exports to France in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 81.00% of Russia’s total exports to France (67.77% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 5.25% of Russia’s total exports to France (3.19% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 4.91% of Russia’s total exports to France (2.66% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
