In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Kuwait totaled $136,958,413, up 18.48% ($21,364,659) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Kuwait in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $136,838,122, up 18.38% ($21,246,562) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Kuwait in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $120,291, up 5,382.73% ($118,097) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Kuwait in the 4th quarter of 2016 was $136,717,831, a 18.28% increase ($21,128,465) over the 4th quarter of 2015.

Kuwait was Russia’s 76th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1005% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0884% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Kuwait was Russia’s 67th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 63rd in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1632% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1402% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Kuwait was Russia’s 150th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 181st in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0002% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0000% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Kuwait

The major share of Russian exports to Kuwait in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 97.52% of Russia’s total exports to Kuwait (85.74% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.44% of Russia’s total exports to Kuwait (1.46% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 0.78% of Russia’s total exports to Kuwait (1.85% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 0.03% of Russia’s total exports to Kuwait (10.74% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Kuwait in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $683,210.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Kuwait in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $12,311,332;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $1,123,595.

Russia’s Imports from Kuwait

The major share of Russian imports from Kuwait in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 50.61% of Russia’s total imports from Kuwait (77.30% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 49.39% of Russia’s total imports from Kuwait (0.00% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 0.00% of Russia’s total imports from Kuwait (22.70% in the 4th quarter of 2015).
