Russia’s Trade with Peru

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Peru was $102,343,073, down 68.01% ($217,577,552) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Peru in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $73,863,569, down 75.39% ($226,225,650) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Peru in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $28,479,504, up 43.61% ($8,648,098) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade surplus with Peru in the 4th quarter of 2016 was $45,384,065, a 83.81% decrease ($234,873,748) over the 4th quarter of 2015.

Peru was Russia’s 84th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 57th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0751% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.2446% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Peru was Russia’s 77th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 48th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0881% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.3640% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Peru was Russia’s 79th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 86th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0543% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0410% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Peru

The major share of Russian exports to Peru in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 57.45% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (17.94% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 14.58% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (4.52% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 11.78% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (2.32% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 9.52% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (1.89% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 3.48% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (0.31% in the 4th quarter of 2015);

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $1,610,989;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $1,196,931;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $347,097;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $280,126;
  • Man-made filaments (HS code 54) - an increase of $278,734.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Peru in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $11,953,930;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $9,332,083;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $1,571,322;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $1,255,839;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $829,844;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $432,526;
  • Explosives; pyrotechnic products; matches; pyrophoric alloys; certain combustible preparations (HS code 36) - a decrease of $354,856;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - a decrease of $312,452.

Russia’s Imports from Peru

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 8.75% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (6.05% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
