Russia’s Trade with Qatar

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Qatar totaled $12,861,471, up 28.75% ($2,871,810) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Qatar in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $3,926,117, up 171.55% ($2,480,276) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Qatar in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $8,935,354, up 4.58% ($391,534) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade deficit with Qatar in the 4th quarter of 2016 was $5,009,237, a 29.43% decrease ($2,088,742) over the 4th quarter of 2015.

Qatar was Russia’s 125th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 136th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0094% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0076% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Qatar was Russia’s 129th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 144th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0047% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0018% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Qatar was Russia’s 97th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 99th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0170% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0177% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Qatar in the 4th quarter of 2016 over the 4th quarter of 2015 were recorded for the following product groups:

Russia’s Imports from Qatar

The major share of Russian imports from Qatar in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 75.56% of Russia’s total imports from Qatar (72.20% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 24.36% of Russia’s total imports from Qatar (27.74% in the 4th quarter of 2015).
