Russia’s Trade with Spain

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Spain was $1,111,415,901, down 18.93% ($259,506,828) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Spain in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $436,424,900, down 38.69% ($275,354,969) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Spain in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $674,991,001, up 2.40% ($15,848,141) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade balance with Spain went from a surplus of $52,637,009 in the 4th quarter of 2015, to a deficit of $238,566,101 in the 4th quarter of 2016.

Spain was Russia’s 29th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 21st in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.8156% of Russia’s total trade (down from 1.0484% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Spain

The major share of Russian exports to Spain in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 65.49% of Russia’s total exports to Spain (66.64% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 16.49% of Russia’s total exports to Spain (8.65% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 7.40% of Russia’s total exports to Spain (4.52% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
