Russia’s Trade with Thailand

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with Thailand was $529,009,795, down 8.51% ($49,191,014) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to Thailand in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $174,557,259, up 28.24% ($38,444,522) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from Thailand in the 4th quarter of 2016 were $354,452,536, down 19.82% ($87,635,536) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade deficit with Thailand in the 4th quarter of 2016 was $179,895,277, a 41.21% decrease ($126,080,058) over the 4th quarter of 2015.

Thailand was Russia’s 45th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 39th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.3882% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.4422% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Thailand was Russia’s 59th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 61st in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.2082% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1651% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Thailand was Russia’s 30th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 28th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.6760% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.9146% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to Thailand

The major share of Russian exports to Thailand in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 57.74% of Russia’s total exports to Thailand (31.43% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 23.33% of Russia’s total exports to Thailand (17.84% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 8.49% of Russia’s total exports to Thailand (1.59% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 6.09% of Russia’s total exports to Thailand (16.63% in the 4th quarter of 2015);

  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $1,345,909;
