Russia’s Trade with the Philippines

In the 4th quarter of 2016, Russia’s trade with the Philippines totaled $144,490,640, up 24.64% ($28,562,235) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s exports to the Philippines in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $48,016,276, up 141.78% ($28,156,740) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s imports from the Philippines in the 4th quarter of 2016 totaled $96,474,364, up 0.42% ($405,495) from the 4th quarter of 2015.

Russia’s trade deficit with the Philippines in the 4th quarter of 2016 was $48,458,088, a 36.41% decrease ($27,751,245) over the 4th quarter of 2015.

The Philippines was Russia’s 75th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2016 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1060% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0887% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

The Philippines was Russia’s 82nd largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2016 (up from 104th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.0573% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0241% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

The Philippines was Russia’s 59th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2016 (down from 56th in the 4th quarter of 2015), accounting for 0.1840% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1987% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Exports to the Philippines

The major share of Russian exports to the Philippines in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 51.98% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (69.15% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 28.04% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (0.00% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 12.81% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (26.60% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.83% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (2.20% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.60% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (1.19% in the 4th quarter of 2015).

Russia’s Imports from the Philippines

The major share of Russian imports from the Philippines in the 4th quarter of 2016 (and in the 4th quarter of 2015) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 80.63% of Russia’s total imports from the Philippines (83.25% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 10.70% of Russia’s total imports from the Philippines (8.04% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 4.79% of Russia’s total imports from the Philippines (3.40% in the 4th quarter of 2015);
