The major trading partners of Russia in Africa in the 2nd quarter of 2017:

The top five Russia’s trade partners in Africa in the 2nd quarter of 2017 were Egypt (0.9937% of Russia’s total foreign trade), Algeria (0.6004%), Morocco (0.1945%), South Africa (0.1563%), and Sudan (0.0867%);

The top five Russia’s export markets in Africa in the 2nd quarter of 2017 were Egypt (1.3903% of Russia’s total exports), Algeria (0.9960%), Morocco (0.2158%), Sudan (0.1438%), and Nigeria (0.0977%);

The top five Russia’s import suppliers from Africa in the 2nd quarter of 2017 were Egypt (0.3966% of Russia’s total imports), South Africa (0.3030%), Morocco (0.1626%), Kenya (0.0653%), and Cote d’Ivoire (0.0638%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of Africa in the 2nd quarter of 2017 over the 2nd quarter of 2016:

  • The share of Egypt in Russia’s total exports rose from 0.8501% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016 to 1.3903% in the 2nd quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Algeria in Russia’s total exports rose 2.6-fold from 0.3845% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016 to 0.9960% in the 2nd quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Ghana in Russia’s total exports declined 4.6-fold from 0.1359% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016 to 0.0296% in the 2nd quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Ethiopia in Russia’s total exports declined 18.5-fold from 0.0241% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016 to 0.0013% in the 2nd quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Libya in Russia’s total exports rose 14.4-fold from 0.0037% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016 to 0.0532% in the 2nd quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Djibouti in Russia’s total exports rose 5.3-fold from 0.0018% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016 to 0.0096% in the 2nd quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Zimbabwe in Russia’s total exports declined 9.0-fold from 0.0018% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016 to 0.0002% in the 2nd quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Malawi in Russia’s total exports rose 5.9-fold from 0.0011% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016 to 0.0065% in the 2nd quarter of the 2017;
  • The share of Togo in Russia’s total exports rose 5.4-fold from 0.0007% in the 2nd quarter of the 2016 to 0.0038% in the 2nd quarter of the 2017.
