Russia’s Trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina

In the 2nd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina totaled $34,492,162, up 33.45% ($8,646,262) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2nd quarter of 2017 were $10,648,041, down 0.29% ($30,768) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $23,844,121, up 57.21% ($8,677,030) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade deficit with Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was $13,196,080, a 194.01% increase ($8,707,798) over the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Bosnia and Herzegovina was Russia’s 106th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 103rd in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0247% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0237% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Bosnia and Herzegovina was Russia’s 115th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 107th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0127% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0161% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Bosnia and Herzegovina was Russia’s 85th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (up from 86th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0427% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0358% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

The major share of Russian exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 43.71% of Russia’s total exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina (45.70% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 26.77% of Russia’s total exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina (25.29% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 11.40% of Russia’s total exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina (17.48% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);

  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $100,980;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - an increase of $76,698;
  • Tanning or dyeing extracts; dyes, pigments, paints, varnishes, putty and mastics (HS code 32) - an increase of $68,155;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - an increase of $54,639;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - an increase of $34,405.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 2nd quarter of 2017 over the 2nd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $622,060;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $225,064;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $197,000;
  • Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - a decrease of $101,365;
  • Raw hides and skins (other than furskins) and leather (HS code 41) - a decrease of $77,712;
  • Lead and articles thereof (HS code 78) - a decrease of $72,145;
  • Articles of stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica or similar materials (HS code 68) - a decrease of $63,523;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - a decrease of $37,009.

Russia’s Imports from Bosnia and Herzegovina
