Russia’s Trade with Kazakhstan

In the 2nd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Kazakhstan totaled $4,196,946,659, up 31.22% ($998,451,826) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Kazakhstan in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $2,977,143,827, up 31.10% ($706,222,990) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Kazakhstan in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $1,219,802,832, up 31.50% ($292,228,836) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Kazakhstan in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was $1,757,340,995, a 30.82% increase ($413,994,154) over the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Kazakhstan was Russia’s 10th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 9th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 3.0030% of Russia’s total trade (up from 2.9388% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Kazakhstan was Russia’s 8th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 7th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 3.5454% of Russia’s total exports (up from 3.4176% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Kazakhstan was Russia’s 9th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (up from 11th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 2.1866% of Russia’s total imports (down from 2.1881% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Kazakhstan

The major share of Russian exports to Kazakhstan in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 18.37% of Russia’s total exports to Kazakhstan (18.27% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
