Russia’s Trade with Lebanon
In the 2nd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Lebanon totaled $157,182,951, up 50.77% ($52,927,848) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.
Russia’s exports to Lebanon in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $154,841,051, up 53.16% ($53,742,332) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.
Russia’s imports from Lebanon in the 2nd quarter of 2017 were $2,341,900, down 25.80% ($814,484) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.
Russia’s trade surplus with Lebanon in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was $152,499,151, a 55.70% increase ($54,556,816) over the 2nd quarter of 2016.
Lebanon was Russia’s 71st largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (up from 75th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1125% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0958% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).
Lebanon was Russia’s 59th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (up from 61st in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1844% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1521% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).
Lebanon was Russia’s 116th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 108th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0042% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0074% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).
Russia’s Exports to Lebanon
The major share of Russian exports to Lebanon in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 44.95% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (42.83% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 38.75% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (27.02% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 4.52% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (14.58% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 4.23% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (6.68% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 4.07% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (2.58% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);

- Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $32,692,931;
- Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $15,638,005;
- Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $10,449,800;
- Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $2,947,801;
- Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $952,530;
- Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $769,524.
The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Lebanon in the 2nd quarter of 2017 over the 2nd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:
- Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $7,479,603;
- Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $1,216,641.
