Russia’s Trade with Tunisia

In the 2nd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Tunisia was $98,572,230, down 18.81% ($22,836,194) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Tunisia in the 2nd quarter of 2017 were $69,577,001, down 28.73% ($28,042,093) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Tunisia in the 2nd quarter of 2017 totaled $28,995,229, up 21.88% ($5,205,899) from the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Tunisia in the 2nd quarter of 2017 was $40,581,772, a 45.03% decrease ($33,247,992) over the 2nd quarter of 2016.

Tunisia was Russia’s 85th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 73rd in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0705% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1115% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Tunisia was Russia’s 79th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 62nd in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0829% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1469% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Tunisia was Russia’s 81st largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (down from 80th in the 2nd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0520% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0561% in the 2nd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Tunisia

The major share of Russian exports to Tunisia in the 2nd quarter of 2017 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 37.27% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (72.78% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 35.79% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (18.18% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 23.56% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (1.51% in the 2nd quarter of 2016);

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $6,855,771;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - an increase of $1,563,996;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $506,691;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $219,448.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Tunisia in the 2nd quarter of 2017 over the 2nd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $46,679,050;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $3,205,973;
  • Pulp of wood or of other fibrous cellulosic material; waste and scrap of paper or paperboard (HS code 47) - a decrease of $1,288,659;

Russia’s Imports from Tunisia
