Russia’s Trade with Cyprus

In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Cyprus was $64,227,267, down 52.30% ($70,426,918) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Cyprus in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $61,931,358, down 46.87% ($54,634,307) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Cyprus in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $2,295,909, down 87.31% ($15,792,611) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Cyprus in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $59,635,449, a 39.44% decrease ($38,841,696) over the 4th quarter of 2016.

Cyprus was Russia’s 93rd largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 79th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0384% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0988% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Cyprus was Russia’s 80th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 69th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0602% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1390% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Cyprus was Russia’s 116th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 90th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0036% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0345% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Cyprus

The major share of Russian exports to Cyprus in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 51.44% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (35.91% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 16.68% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (11.78% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 9.57% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (0.93% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 9.47% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (6.37% in the 4th quarter of 2016);

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Cyprus in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Ships, boats and floating structures (HS code 89) - a decrease of $49,148,239;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $10,062,353;
  • Nickel and articles thereof (HS code 75) - a decrease of $3,692,595;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $2,205,110;
  • Residues and waste from the food industries; prepared animal feed (HS code 23) - a decrease of $1,324,408;
  • Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - a decrease of $278,510;
