Russia’s Trade with France

In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with France totaled $4,599,679,458, up 22.47% ($843,892,663) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to France in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $1,638,438,903, up 20.01% ($273,240,946) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from France in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $2,961,240,555, up 23.87% ($570,651,717) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade deficit with France in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $1,322,801,652, a 29.00% increase ($297,410,771) over the 4th quarter of 2016.

France was Russia’s 11th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 12th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 2.7519% of Russia’s total trade (down from 2.7562% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

France was Russia’s 19th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 1.5928% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.6284% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

France was Russia’s 6th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 5th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 4.6068% of Russia’s total imports (up from 4.5594% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

The major share of Russian exports to France in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 4.17% of Russia’s total exports to France (5.25% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
