Russia’s Trade with Greece

In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Greece was $825,160,079, down 21.24% ($222,469,888) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Greece in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $753,289,682, down 23.46% ($230,885,427) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Greece in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $71,870,397, up 13.26% ($8,415,539) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Greece in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $681,419,285, a 25.99% decrease ($239,300,966) over the 4th quarter of 2016.

Greece was Russia’s 39th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 30th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.4937% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.7688% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Greece was Russia’s 32nd largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 22nd in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.7323% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.1739% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Greece was Russia’s 65th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 66th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1118% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1210% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Greece

The major share of Russian exports to Greece in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 80.75% of Russia’s total exports to Greece (76.63% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 16.00% of Russia’s total exports to Greece (20.67% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 1.14% of Russia’s total exports to Greece (1.61% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Greece in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - an increase of $46,327,175;
  • Zinc and articles thereof (HS code 79) - an increase of $15,544,263.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Greece in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:
