The major trading partners of Russia in Africa in the 1st quarter of 2018:

The top five Russia’s trade partners in Africa in the 1st quarter of 2018 were Egypt (1.0558% of Russia’s total foreign trade), Algeria (0.4367%), Morocco (0.3333%), Tunisia (0.1024%), and South Africa (0.1013%);

The top five Russia’s export markets in Africa in the 1st quarter of 2018 were Egypt (1.4289% of Russia’s total exports), Algeria (0.6653%), Morocco (0.3105%), Tunisia (0.1161%), and Sudan (0.1134%);

The top five Russia’s import suppliers from Africa in the 1st quarter of 2018 were Morocco (0.3763% of Russia’s total imports), Egypt (0.3519%), South Africa (0.2416%), Tunisia (0.0764%), and Cote d’Ivoire (0.0715%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of Africa in the 1st quarter of 2018 over the 1st quarter of 2017:

  • The share of Ghana in Russia’s total exports declined 2.8-fold from 0.0673% in the 1st quarter of the 2017 to 0.0239% in the 1st quarter of the 2018;
  • The share of Kenya in Russia’s total exports declined 3.0-fold from 0.0488% in the 1st quarter of the 2017 to 0.0165% in the 1st quarter of the 2018;
  • The share of Togo in Russia’s total exports declined 12.7-fold from 0.0382% in the 1st quarter of the 2017 to 0.0030% in the 1st quarter of the 2018;
  • The share of Angola in Russia’s total exports declined 5.8-fold from 0.0328% in the 1st quarter of the 2017 to 0.0057% in the 1st quarter of the 2018;
  • The share of Nigeria in Russia’s total imports declined 5.5-fold from 0.0459% in the 1st quarter of the 2017 to 0.0083% in the 1st quarter of the 2018;
  • The share of Tanzania in Russia’s total imports declined 4.4-fold from 0.0237% in the 1st quarter of the 2017 to 0.0054% in the 1st quarter of the 2018;
  • The share of Sudan in Russia’s total imports rose 8.0-fold from 0.0002% in the 1st quarter of the 2017 to 0.0016% in the 1st quarter of the 2018.
