Russia’s Trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina

In the 1st quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina was $44,359,966, down 4.84% ($2,257,175) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $26,058,495, up 33.62% ($6,556,354) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1st quarter of 2018 were $18,301,471, down 32.50% ($8,813,529) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade balance with Bosnia and Herzegovina went from a deficit of $7,612,859 in the 1st quarter of 2017, to a surplus of $7,757,024 in the 1st quarter of 2018.

Bosnia and Herzegovina was Russia’s 100th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 97th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0281% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0363% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Bosnia and Herzegovina was Russia’s 97th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2018 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0253% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0234% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Bosnia and Herzegovina was Russia’s 87th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 80th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0335% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0600% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $204,332;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - an increase of $152,957.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1st quarter of 2018 over the 1st quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Pulp of wood or of other fibrous cellulosic material; waste and scrap of paper or paperboard (HS code 47) - a decrease of $436,920;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $292,678;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - a decrease of $193,667.
