Russia’s Trade with Norway

In the 1st quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Norway totaled $290,816,564, up 59.97% ($109,026,925) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Norway in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $219,841,075, up 68.53% ($89,397,821) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Norway in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $70,975,489, up 38.23% ($19,629,104) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Norway in the 1st quarter of 2018 was $148,865,586, a 88.21% increase ($69,768,717) over the 1st quarter of 2017.

Norway was Russia’s 63rd largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 62nd in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.1845% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.1414% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Norway was Russia’s 57th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2018 (up from 61st in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.2134% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1565% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Norway was Russia’s 65th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2018 (up from 66th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.1300% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1136% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Norway

The major share of Russian exports to Norway in the 1st quarter of 2018 (and in the 1st quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 48.60% of Russia’s total exports to Norway (29.92% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 24.86% of Russia’s total exports to Norway (47.42% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 16.20% of Russia’s total exports to Norway (6.47% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
