Russia’s Trade with Peru

In the 1st quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Peru totaled $106,226,196, up 20.02% ($17,721,269) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Peru in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $67,824,034, up 10.56% ($6,475,708) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Peru in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $38,402,162, up 41.41% ($11,245,561) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Peru in the 1st quarter of 2018 was $29,421,872, a 13.95% decrease ($4,769,853) over the 1st quarter of 2017.

Peru was Russia’s 80th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2018 (up from 83rd in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0674% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0688% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Peru was Russia’s 78th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2018 (up from 79th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0658% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0736% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Peru was Russia’s 76th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2018 (up from 79th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0703% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0601% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Peru

The major share of Russian exports to Peru in the 1st quarter of 2018 (and in the 1st quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 53.66% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (59.26% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 21.84% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (9.28% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 18.49% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (23.37% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.66% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (0.75% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.38% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (4.93% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $8,923,930;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $1,135,166;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $1,028,586;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $451,681.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Peru in the 1st quarter of 2018 over the 1st quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $1,686,142;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $1,621,019;
  • Printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry; manuscripts, typescripts and plans (HS code 49) - a decrease of $957,447;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $437,946;
  • Man-made filaments (HS code 54) - a decrease of $208,478.

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 7.78% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (8.61% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
