Russia’s Trade with Vietnam

In the 1st quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Vietnam totaled $1,137,657,733, up 15.50% ($152,667,367) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Vietnam in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $325,102,384, up 4.84% ($15,011,795) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Vietnam in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $812,555,349, up 20.40% ($137,655,572) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade deficit with Vietnam in the 1st quarter of 2018 was $487,452,965, a 33.62% increase ($122,643,777) over the 1st quarter of 2017.

Vietnam was Russia’s 32nd largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 28th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.7217% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.7662% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Vietnam was Russia’s 44th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 43rd in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.3156% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.3721% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Vietnam was Russia’s 16th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 14th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 1.4879% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.4926% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Vietnam

The major share of Russian exports to Vietnam in the 1st quarter of 2018 (and in the 1st quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 40.88% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (43.37% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 18.05% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (17.32% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 16.56% of Russia’s total exports to Vietnam (17.65% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
