Russia’s Trade with Egypt

In the 2nd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Egypt totaled $1,545,483,263, up 11.29% ($156,776,449) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Egypt in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $1,337,704,598, up 14.58% ($170,251,496) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Egypt in the 2nd quarter of 2018 were $207,778,665, down 6.09% ($13,475,047) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Egypt in the 2nd quarter of 2018 was $1,129,925,933, a 19.42% increase ($183,726,543) over the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Egypt was Russia’s 23rd largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (down from 19th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.9043% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.9937% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Egypt was Russia’s 18th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 1.2138% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.3903% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Egypt was Russia’s 43rd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (up from 46th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.3423% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.3966% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Egypt

The major share of Russian exports to Egypt in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - a decrease of $16,852,454;
