Russia’s Trade with Germany

In the 2nd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Germany totaled $14,779,070,886, up 30.93% ($3,491,553,036) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Germany in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $8,268,929,454, up 54.48% ($2,916,305,846) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Germany in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $6,510,141,432, up 9.69% ($575,247,190) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade balance with Germany went from a deficit of $582,270,634 in the 2nd quarter of 2017, to a surplus of $1,758,788,022 in the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Germany was Russia’s 2nd largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 8.6472% of Russia’s total trade (up from 8.0765% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Germany was Russia’s 3rd largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 7.5033% of Russia’s total exports (up from 6.3742% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Germany was Russia’s 2nd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 10.7237% of Russia’s total imports (up from 10.6389% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Germany

The major share of Russian exports to Germany in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 84.63% of Russia’s total exports to Germany (84.39% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
