Russia’s Trade with Iceland

In the 2nd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Iceland was $8,668,482, down 16.26% ($1,683,339) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Iceland in the 2nd quarter of 2018 were $3,201,862, down 13.89% ($516,398) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Iceland in the 2nd quarter of 2018 were $5,466,620, down 17.59% ($1,166,941) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade deficit with Iceland in the 2nd quarter of 2018 was $2,264,758, a 22.31% decrease ($650,543) over the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Iceland was Russia’s 138th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (down from 129th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0051% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0074% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Iceland was Russia’s 140th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (down from 131st in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0029% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0044% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Iceland was Russia’s 105th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (down from 98th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0090% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0119% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Iceland

The major share of Russian exports to Iceland in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - an increase of $17,089;
  • Articles of apparel and clothing accessories, not knitted or crocheted (HS code 62) - an increase of $16,960;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $10,391;
  • Soap, organic surface-active agents, washing preparations, lubricating preparations, artificial waxes, prepared waxes, polishing or scouring preparations, candles and similar articles, modeling pastes, "dental waxes" and dental preparations with a basis of plaster (HS code 34) - an increase of $9,851.

Russia’s Imports from Iceland

The major share of Russian imports from Iceland in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 18.32% of Russia’s total imports from Iceland (1.89% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
