Russia’s Trade with Peru

In the 2nd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Peru totaled $122,362,472, up 23.83% ($23,549,297) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Peru in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $78,761,909, up 24.15% ($15,322,344) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Peru in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $43,600,563, up 23.26% ($8,226,953) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Peru in the 2nd quarter of 2018 was $35,161,346, a 25.28% increase ($7,095,391) over the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Peru was Russia’s 81st largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (up from 84th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0716% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0707% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Peru was Russia’s 82nd largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0715% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0755% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Peru was Russia’s 74th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (up from 77th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0718% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0634% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Peru

The major share of Russian exports to Peru in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 51.36% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (44.21% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 20.14% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (38.57% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 13.57% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (13.31% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 10.75% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (0.05% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);

  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $3,247,522;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $2,285,984;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $381,147;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - an increase of $359,067;
  • Man-made filaments (HS code 54) - an increase of $347,913;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - an increase of $307,619.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Peru in the 2nd quarter of 2018 over the 2nd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

Russia’s Imports from Peru

The major share of Russian imports from Peru in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 88.72% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (83.04% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 8.87% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (7.73% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 1.55% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (1.94% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
