Russia’s Trade with Slovakia

In the 2nd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Slovakia totaled $1,372,748,832, up 12.80% ($155,728,869) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Slovakia in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $868,159,767, up 19.13% ($139,390,254) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Slovakia in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $504,589,065, up 3.35% ($16,338,615) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Slovakia in the 2nd quarter of 2018 was $363,570,702, a 51.16% increase ($123,051,639) over the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Slovakia was Russia’s 28th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (down from 25th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.8032% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.8708% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Slovakia was Russia’s 29th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (down from 26th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.7878% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.8679% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Slovakia was Russia’s 27th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (down from 26th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.8312% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.8752% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Slovakia

The major share of Russian exports to Slovakia in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 90.34% of Russia’s total exports to Slovakia (89.27% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.91% of Russia’s total exports to Slovakia (6.76% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 2.94% of Russia’s total exports to Slovakia (1.80% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
