The major trading partners of Russia in Africa in the 4th quarter of 2018:

The top five Russia’s trade partners in Africa in the 4th quarter of 2018 were Algeria (1.6654% of Russia’s total foreign trade), Egypt (1.6491%), Morocco (0.2261%), South Africa (0.1443%), and Tunisia (0.1086%);

The top five Russia’s export markets in Africa in the 4th quarter of 2018 were Algeria (2.4976% of Russia’s total exports), Egypt (2.4150%), Morocco (0.1992%), Nigeria (0.1422%), and Tunisia (0.1402%);

The top five Russia’s import suppliers from Africa in the 4th quarter of 2018 were South Africa (0.3339% of Russia’s total imports), Morocco (0.2797%), Egypt (0.1196%), Cote d’Ivoire (0.1020%), and Angola (0.0480%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of Africa in the 4th quarter of 2018 over the 4th quarter of 2017:

  • The share of Algeria in Russia’s total exports rose from 1.6849% in the 4th quarter of the 2017 to 2.4976% in the 4th quarter of the 2018;
  • The share of Togo in Russia’s total exports rose 5.4-fold from 0.0181% in the 4th quarter of the 2017 to 0.0975% in the 4th quarter of the 2018;
  • The share of Zimbabwe in Russia’s total exports rose 6.6-fold from 0.0010% in the 4th quarter of the 2017 to 0.0066% in the 4th quarter of the 2018.
