Russia’s Trade with Angola

In the 4th quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Angola totaled $47,379,409, up 64.11% ($18,508,208) from the 4th quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Angola in the 4th quarter of 2018 were $17,480,364, down 39.45% ($11,388,428) from the 4th quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Angola in the 4th quarter of 2018 totaled $29,899,045, up 1,241,039.27% ($29,896,636) from the 4th quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade balance with Angola went from a surplus of $28,866,383 in the 4th quarter of 2017, to a deficit of $12,418,681 in the 4th quarter of 2018.

Angola was Russia’s 106th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2018 (up from 113th in the 4th quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0254% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0173% in the 4th quarter of 2017).

Angola was Russia’s 115th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2018 (down from 95th in the 4th quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0140% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0281% in the 4th quarter of 2017).

Angola was Russia’s 85th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2018 (up from 184th in the 4th quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0480% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0000% in the 4th quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Angola

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $1,453,642;
  • Printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry; manuscripts, typescripts and plans (HS code 49) - an increase of $1,157,572;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $516,918;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - an increase of $256,200;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - an increase of $201,712;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $171,808;
  • Meat and edible meat offal (HS code 02) - an increase of $107,671.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Angola in the 4th quarter of 2018 over the 4th quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $7,389,073;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $3,992,881;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $2,589,325;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $1,254,203;
  • Other made up textile articles; sets; worn clothing and worn textile articles; rags (HS code 63) - a decrease of $847,969;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - a decrease of $793,544;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - a decrease of $597,623;
  • Ships, boats and floating structures (HS code 89) - a decrease of $556,150;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $265,239;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $217,275;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $57,102;
  • Products of animal origin, not elsewhere specified or included (HS code 05) - a decrease of $56,144.
