Russia’s Trade with Egypt
In the 4th quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Egypt totaled $3,081,109,775, up 13.50% ($366,396,124) from the 4th quarter of 2017.
Russia’s exports to Egypt in the 4th quarter of 2018 totaled $3,006,533,303, up 14.27% ($375,359,717) from the 4th quarter of 2017.
Russia’s imports from Egypt in the 4th quarter of 2018 were $74,576,472, down 10.73% ($8,963,593) from the 4th quarter of 2017.
Russia’s trade surplus with Egypt in the 4th quarter of 2018 was $2,931,956,831, a 15.09% increase ($384,323,310) over the 4th quarter of 2017.
Egypt was Russia’s 18th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2018 (down from 17th in the 4th quarter of 2017), accounting for 1.6491% of Russia’s total trade (up from 1.6242% in the 4th quarter of 2017).
Egypt was Russia’s 12th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2018 (just as in the 4th quarter of 2017), accounting for 2.4150% of Russia’s total exports (down from 2.5579% in the 4th quarter of 2017).
Egypt was Russia’s 63rd largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2018 (up from 64th in the 4th quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.1196% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.1300% in the 4th quarter of 2017).
Russia’s Exports to Egypt
The major share of Russian exports to Egypt in the 4th quarter of 2018 (and in the 4th quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 20.10% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (20.65% in the 4th quarter of 2017);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 6.12% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (8.98% in the 4th quarter of 2017);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 5.94% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (8.89% in the 4th quarter of 2017);
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 5.59% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (3.03% in the 4th quarter of 2017);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 4.36% of Russia’s total exports to Egypt (4.07% in the 4th quarter of 2017).

- Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $158,069,162;
- Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $49,938,654;
- Printed books, newspapers, pictures and other products of the printing industry; manuscripts, typescripts and plans (HS code 49) - an increase of $40,144,089;
- Ores, slag and ash (HS code 26) - an increase of $34,944,816.
The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Egypt in the 4th quarter of 2018 over the 4th quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

- Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $47,365,596;
