In 2018, Russia’s trade with Algeria totaled $5,403,898,412, up 16.71% ($773,645,069) from 2017.

Russia’s exports to Algeria in 2018 totaled $5,393,393,253, up 16.71% ($772,198,160) from 2017.

Russia’s imports from Algeria in 2018 totaled $10,505,159, up 15.97% ($1,446,909) from 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Algeria in 2018 was $5,382,888,094, a 16.71% increase ($770,751,251) over 2017.

Algeria was Russia’s 27th largest trading partner in 2018 (up from 28th in 2017), accounting for 0.7853% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.7928% in 2017).

Algeria was Russia’s 19th largest export market in 2018 (up from 20th in 2017), accounting for 1.1986% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.2942% in 2017).

Algeria was Russia’s 120th largest supplier in 2018 (down from 117th in 2017), accounting for 0.0044% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0040% in 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Algeria

The major share of Russian exports to Algeria in 2018 (and in 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 30.92% of Russia’s total exports to Algeria (22.87% in 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 16.04% of Russia’s total exports to Algeria (9.67% in 2017);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 6.66% of Russia’s total exports to Algeria (2.24% in 2017);

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Algeria in 2018 over 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $205,100,953;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $144,165,199;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - a decrease of $72,268,157;
