Russia’s Trade with Japan

In the 1st quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Japan totaled $4,656,138,831, up 3.87% ($173,326,378) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Japan in the 1st quarter of 2019 totaled $2,633,142,077, up 1.84% ($47,642,307) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Japan in the 1st quarter of 2019 totaled $2,022,996,754, up 6.62% ($125,684,071) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Japan in the 1st quarter of 2019 was $610,145,323, a 11.34% decrease ($78,041,764) over the 1st quarter of 2018.

Japan was Russia’s 9th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2019 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 2.9577% of Russia’s total trade (up from 2.8438% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Japan was Russia’s 11th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2019 (up from 13th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 2.5226% of Russia’s total exports (up from 2.5096% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Japan was Russia’s 6th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2019 (up from 7th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 3.8139% of Russia’s total imports (up from 3.4743% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Japan

The major share of Russian exports to Japan in the 1st quarter of 2019 (and in the 1st quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:
