Russia’s Trade with Lebanon
In the 1st quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Lebanon totaled $191,689,229, up 64.18% ($74,936,546) from the 1st quarter of 2018.
Russia’s exports to Lebanon in the 1st quarter of 2019 totaled $189,829,466, up 65.63% ($75,221,545) from the 1st quarter of 2018.
Russia’s imports from Lebanon in the 1st quarter of 2019 were $1,859,763, down 13.29% ($284,999) from the 1st quarter of 2018.
Russia’s trade surplus with Lebanon in the 1st quarter of 2019 was $187,969,703, a 67.14% increase ($75,506,544) over the 1st quarter of 2018.
Lebanon was Russia’s 72nd largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2019 (up from 79th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1218% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0741% in the 1st quarter of 2018).
Lebanon was Russia’s 58th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2019 (up from 70th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1819% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1112% in the 1st quarter of 2018).
Lebanon was Russia’s 120th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2019 (up from 123rd in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0035% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0039% in the 1st quarter of 2018).
Russia’s Exports to Lebanon
The major share of Russian exports to Lebanon in the 1st quarter of 2019 (and in the 1st quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 60.61% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (6.24% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
- Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 31.04% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (80.55% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 3.38% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (3.46% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.04% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (1.73% in the 1st quarter of 2018);

- Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $1,753,485;
- Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $1,595,859;
- Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $866,393.
The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Lebanon in the 1st quarter of 2019 over the 1st quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:
- Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $28,463,069;
- Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - a decrease of $4,521,685;
- Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $3,220,120;
