Russia’s Trade with Malaysia
In the 1st quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Malaysia totaled $768,355,448, up 11.75% ($80,777,727) from the 1st quarter of 2018.
Russia’s exports to Malaysia in the 1st quarter of 2019 totaled $402,628,110, up 32.40% ($98,521,226) from the 1st quarter of 2018.
Russia’s imports from Malaysia in the 1st quarter of 2019 were $365,727,338, down 4.63% ($17,743,499) from the 1st quarter of 2018.
Russia’s trade balance with Malaysia went from a deficit of $79,363,953 in the 1st quarter of 2018, to a surplus of $36,900,772 in the 1st quarter of 2019.
Malaysia was Russia’s 38th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2019 (up from 40th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.4881% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.4362% in the 1st quarter of 2018).
Malaysia was Russia’s 43rd largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2019 (up from 47th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.3857% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.2952% in the 1st quarter of 2018).
Malaysia was Russia’s 31st largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2019 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.6895% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.7022% in the 1st quarter of 2018).
Russia’s Exports to Malaysia
The major share of Russian exports to Malaysia in the 1st quarter of 2019 (and in the 1st quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 90.04% of Russia’s total exports to Malaysia (91.77% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 2.99% of Russia’s total exports to Malaysia (3.73% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.12% of Russia’s total exports to Malaysia (1.82% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
